The complete silica-free sandblasting starter kit

Everything you need to safely sandblast at home — no silica dust, no missing pieces. Save 8% versus buying each piece separately.

What's included

  • Professional Sandblaster Kit (GE-JJOF-D3QN) — 150 PSI gravity-feed sandblaster with control valve
  • Silicon Carbide 60 Grit Media (LEI-16-1) — 1 kg of silica-free abrasive for paint stripping, rust removal, metal prep
  • Digital Air Pressure Regulator (DAR01B) — LCD readout, accurate 0–160 PSI control
  • Swivel Air Connector Kit (AI-112) — 1/4" NPT swivel fitting prevents hose kinking

Why silica-free matters

Traditional silica sand is dangerous to sandblast with — the dust causes silicosis, an incurable lung disease that OSHA, NIOSH, and the CDC all warn against. Silicon carbide is silica-free, cuts faster, and is reusable several times.

📦 May ship in separate packages from multiple warehouses. Tracking is provided for each shipment, and items usually arrive close together when shipped separately. Learn more about bundle shipping.

Frequently asked questions

To start sandblasting safely at home you need four things: a sandblasting gun, an air compressor that can sustain the gun's required pressure, abrasive media (silica-free), and a pressure regulator with filter to control your air supply. The Pro Air Tools Sandblasting Starter Kit includes the sandblasting gun, silicon carbide media, a digital pressure regulator, and a swivel air connector — you supply the compressor and personal protective equipment (respirator, gloves, eye protection).

No. Sandblasting with traditional silica sand releases respirable crystalline silica dust, which causes silicosis — a serious, progressive, and incurable lung disease. OSHA, NIOSH, and CDC all warn against using silica sand for blasting. Use silica-free abrasives such as silicon carbide, aluminum oxide, soda (sodium bicarbonate), garnet, or walnut shells. The Pro Air Tools Sandblasting Starter Kit ships with silicon carbide media — a hard, fast-cutting, silica-free abrasive suitable for paint stripping, rust removal, and metal preparation.

Yes. A pressure regulator lets you set the exact air pressure delivered to the sandblasting gun. Without one, the gun receives whatever pressure your compressor outputs — often too high, which wastes media, damages the surface being blasted, and stresses the gun's seals. The DAR01B digital regulator included in the Sandblasting Starter Kit displays current PSI on an LCD and supports up to 160 PSI, so you can dial in the right pressure for your media and substrate.

The sandblasting gun in this kit operates between 60 and 120 PSI. For continuous use you want a compressor that can sustain at least 4 to 6 CFM at 90 PSI — most 6-gallon or larger pancake or portable compressors meet this. For larger projects or extended runtime, a 20-gallon or larger stationary compressor is better. The kit does not include a compressor; if you already own one, the included swivel air connector and digital regulator let you connect to standard 1/4 inch NPT compressor outputs.

Silicon carbide is a hard, fast-cutting abrasive that works well on steel, cast iron, aluminum, and other hard surfaces — typical applications include paint stripping, rust removal, and metal preparation for powder coating. Soda (sodium bicarbonate) is much softer and gentler, designed for delicate surfaces like wood, glass, brick, and engine parts where you want to remove a coating without altering the underlying material. The Sandblasting Starter Kit ships with silicon carbide because it covers the broader range of common DIY and shop applications.

Bundle items typically ship in 2 to 4 separate packages from different warehouses, depending on where each component is stocked. You will receive a tracking number for each shipment, and packages usually arrive within 1 to 2 days of each other. The bundle discount applies regardless of how many packages it ships in. If a delay separates the packages by more than 3 days, contact customer support and we will help track each shipment.

Yes. Each item in the bundle has its own tracking number and can be returned independently under our 12-Month Satisfaction Guarantee. If you return enough items from a bundle that the remaining items would have cost more than what you paid, we recalculate the bundle discount on the kept items and refund accordingly.
