Professional Brown Corundum Blasting Media - 220 Grit Surface Prep (LEI17-2)

I ultimately found that my new sandblasting gun was designed for use with 46 grit to 100 grit media — presumably not with 220 grit abrasive — only after receiving it. (That range of grit sizes is written on the side of the hardware but did not appear in the main photograph of the product, nor in the description, nor on the specs on the corresponding Amazon page.) However, I decided to give this fine abrasive a try in the gun anyway, given that course media was not very appropriate for the blast target — a steel combination-square ruler.The attached before-and after photo shows the results: quite satisfactory — though I may have had to use excessive amounts of the 220 grit corundum due to the 5 mm inside diameter of my blast gun's nozzle.Bottom line: I have no reason at this point to deduct stars from my rating.

Very fine abrasive for detailed cleaning.I'm using this for sandblasting the carburetor on a vintage dirt bike engine rebuild - This leaves a clean, satiny finish on the carburetor body. You have to be careful to seal any openings to to the inside of the carburetor if you plan to use it for this purpose.I Kilo is not a lot of media, just enough to try it out and do a small project.Very happy with the performance of this product.

I used this in a small sand blaster I got on amazon. It worked well it pored right through the sieve and had no clumps. It sprayed out of the gun with no issues and cut right through the old paint and rust.

I used this product in my sandblasting gun this morning to remove rust stains on my concrete sidewalk and it worked very well. It only took a few short blasts to. Take care of everything.

This abrasive works well to put a blasted finish on my handmade knives. The final finish is similar to stonewashed blades, but also different. This abrasive also works well to remove rust and to etch glass or steel. It's reusable so this bag will last me for a long time.

This media is very fine. Gets the job done.

Not much to show with this one since it is basically a sandy-like material. Bring it isn’t rock, this worked well on some of the more delicate blasting I needed to do to get paint and rust off of my car. Some of the thinner areas were able to be salvaged instead of blasted away. Good material.

I used this blasting media in a small hand held sand blast gun to clean the rust from some old wrenches. It performed very well. The media is of a consistent grit. It comes very clean. I'll be using this media for surface prep, rust removal, and etching glass.

Easy to use

This blasting media works great. I am using it on small parts and it cleans them up almost instantly.

Decent fine grit, start with something more coarse if a large project or a lot of rust, and then move up to this 220. The 2.2lb bag is a fairly small amount, but good to know if it works for your use case.

I tested this out on a small bracket. The bag wouldn't last long though, it would run out fast. However I would buy this again just in a bigger quantity. I put it in a hopper and it took the rust off quickly. I was impressed.

Good value for the money

This is good sandblasting abrasive. It is a smaller quantity and works best with a small setup unless you get a larger amount, but it does a good job.

I have not been able to use this yet for its intended purpose but I can’t see why it wouldn’t work as it definitely has the texture of sand blasting material!

This is a good abrasive but it is hot that heavy that it is easily caught to be reused. There is a good amount of particulate that is dispersed and doesn't drop immediately so you can't capture 100% of the material to recycle.

I got this media to use with a basic sand blaster for rust removal on old tools. The media is very high grit and will create a smooth finish. However, the results would likely be better and require less overall media if I started with a lower grit and used this just for finishing. I haven't done much work like this before, but it seems relatable to sandpaper grit and that sanding process.I had no issues with this media, other than learning that a 2.2 lb started bag doesn't last very long. Oh, and its messy.

I am new to sandblasting and this is the first media I tried. I got a cheap sandblaster gun and let loose on a corroded trailer hitch ball. I was surprised how well it worked, I can tell you that this media works great on metal and that this little bag won't go far. I had never heard of Corundum but I now know what it tastes like - please wear a respirator.

I used this with a hopper style sandblaster to strip some old metal chairs. It was able to get past several layers of old paint and left a smooth bare metal finish ready for re-painting.There's not much else to say. It worked exactly as expected and I wouldn't hesitated to order again.

This is some very fine blasting media 220 grit. It does remove rust well, but I found it to be quite dusty. I do think it would be good for glass etching because of its fine consistency. I used a good bit on my project so I think I will use a courser grit before I get to this one. I think this would work great for rock tumblers. A good price.
